A record changer or autochanger is a device that plays multiple gramophone records in sequence without user intervention. Record changers first appeared in the late 1920s, and were common until the 1980s.

The first commercially successful record changer was the "Automatic Orthophonic" model by the Victor Talking Machine Company, which was launched in the USA in 1927. On a conventional gramophone or phonograph, the limited playing time of 78 rpm gramophone records meant that listeners had to get up to change records at regular intervals. The Automatic Orthophonic allowed the listener to load a stack of several records into the machine, which would then be automatically played in sequence, providing a long uninterrupted listening session.

By the late 1950s, in the USA, Garrard and Dual dominated the upscale record changer market. From the late 1950s through the late 1960s, VM Corporation (Voice of Music), of Benton Harbor, Michigan, USA, dominated the lower priced original equipment manufacturer (OEM) record changer market, in the USA. VM (Voice of Music) record changers were sold mostly to OEM audio manufacturers, such as Zenith, placed in consoles, portable, and compact low to mid-priced stereo and mono systems, and were not labeled with the Voice of Music trade mark on the record changer. Outside of the USA, VM record changers technology was licensed to several record changer manufacturers. Telefunkin, of then West Germany, was one such company to sign a licensing agreement with VM Corporation. By the late 1960s (1968), BSR displaced VM as the world largest record changer producer, and dominated the OEM record changer market, also, in the USA.

Dates back to 1929 when the company was founded under the name of NV Nederlandsch Indische Bierbrouwerijen. The first brand of the company was Java Bier. In 1936 Heineken became the major shareholder, and the company name changed into Heineken Nederlandsch-Indische Brouwerij Maatschappij. During the years of Indonesia’s Guided Democracy (1957-1965), Heineken stopped being technical advisor and prohibited the use of the Heineken brand-name. Heineken beer was changed in Bir Bintang and the company-name changed into Perusahaan Bir Bintang. The beer is now exported to such different places like: Holland, Japan, Australia, Malaysia, Korea, and Guam.

Mobiloil was registered by the Standard Oil Company of New York (Socony) at the U. S. patent office as a trademark in 1920. The company became the Mobil Oil Corporation in 1966. Although the mobil oil brand became marketed under the now-familiar pegasus, this sign's 'gargoyle' was also one of the ways that the company branded their product and tried to get people to buy their oil.

Vintage Book - DROSTE CACAO

The confectionery business of Gerardus Johannes Droste was opened in Haarlem in the summer of 1863. Droste established a grand reputation in these early years and as a result, the first Droste factory of the firm G.J. Droste opened its doors on August 2nd 1890.

Around the year 1900 the illustration of the "nurse" appeared on Droste's cocoa tins. This is most probably invented by the commercial artist Jan (Johannes) Musset, who had been inspired by a pastel of the Swiss painter Jean Etienne Liotard "La serveuse de chocolat", also known as "La belle chocolatière". The illustration indicated the wholesome effect of chocolate milk and became inextricably bound with the name Droste.  (SOLD)

Vintage Can - White Oats Quaker

Quaker Oats was founded in 1901 by the merger of four oat mills.

The Quaker Mill Company of Ravenna, Ohio, which held the trademark on the Quaker name, and was founded by Henry Parsons Crowell, bought the bankrupt Quaker Oat Mill Company also in Ravenna, OH.He was holding the key positions between the general manager, president and chairman of the company from 1888 until late 1943.

The logo was painted by Haddon Sundblom in 1957. Although it is popularly believed that the man on the box is Province of Pennsylvania founder, namesake and Quaker William Penn, the company states that "The 'Quaker man' is not an actual person", but is instead a generic representation of a "man dressed in Quaker garb".

The company has no formal ties with the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). When the company was being built up, Quaker businesspeople were known for their honesty (Truth is often considered a Quaker testimony). The Straight Dope writes "According to the good folks at Quaker Oats, the Quaker Man was America's first registered trademark for a breakfast cereal, his registration taking place on September 4th, 1877.

Jamu may vary from region to region, and often not written down, especially in remote areas of the country. Jamu is often distributed in the form of powder, pills, capsules, and drinking liquid. Jamu shops, which sell only ingredients or prepare the jamu on spot as required by buyers, as well as women roaming the street to sell jamu, is a commonly seen way to distribute jamu in Indonesia.
